UNIVERSITARY SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY AND JOB SATISFACTION AT WORK: PERCEPTION OF CHAIR PROFESSORS IN A STATE AND PUBLIC UNIVERSITY OF CHILE
Abstract
Studies on university management consider various challenges that emanate from the challenges of complex and dynamic scenarios. The objective of this research is to analyze the perception of chair professors on university social responsibility (USR) and its relationship with job satisfaction (JS) in a state and public university in Chile. The methodology is quantitative with a descriptive-correlational scope; to obtain the information, two self-administered instruments were applied through the SurveyMonkey platform. A non-probabilistic sampling was used, in which 146 chair professors from different departments of the institution participated. The results show a positive relationship between job satisfaction and USR. This association is significant and direct in some of the dimensions that constitute the USR and job satisfaction. Finally, it is necessary that these results can be used for the design of strategies to meet the needs of one of the key actors in the teaching and learning scenarios.
