Abstract

The SARS-CoV-2 Pandemic has created an unprecedented challenge for education. In 2020, as a result of measures to reduce the spread of SARS-CoV-2, many educational institutions shifted from on-site to remote learning. However, this educational model can cause stress and anxiety in additional to the anxiety caused by the pandemic. The objectives of the present study were: 1) to compare the perspectives of students and teachers regarding the number of hours devoted to classes, and 2) to determine the main difficulties faced by teachers and students, respectively, upon shifting to the online education system. To perform this research, an online survey was conducted in Spanish-speaking countries, using a sample of 1,048 anonymous participants. Through the data collected. platform usage, types of equipment, levels of distress, and possible reasons for this distress were analyzed. This pandemic is one of the most important public health threats in recent history and it has affected our lives in a significant way, one of the most important concern the future adaptation of schools, students, and teacher to a new way of learning. © 2023 CONICET - Emiliano Aldegani.
