Abstract

The objective of this study is to describe the process of developing a protocol to assess the iSupport-Brazil program's impact on the mental health and well-being of informal caregivers of people living with dementia This multicenter, methodological study comprises six stages: analysis of the iSupport program adaptation guide developed by the World Health Organization; review of protocols from other countries that have adopted the program; evaluation of the instruments used in these protocols; development of the data collection protocol in electronic format; a pilot study applying this protocol; and creation of the final version of the assessment protocol. In summary, the study details the methodological development of a protocol for evaluating a psychoeducational intervention, which can serve as a future example for future research in the development of similar assessment protocols. © 2025 Elsevier Inc.
