Abstract

Two types of copolymers based on N-maleyl glycine with acrylic acid and acrylamide were synthesized. Radical copolymerizations were performed in dioxane at 70°C with AIBN as the initiator. The monomer reactivity ratios were determined using the Kelen-Tüdös method. FT-IR, 1H-NMR, and 13C-NMR spectroscopy as well as elemental analysis were used for the characterization of the copolymers. The comonomer content of the copolymers and the reactivity ratios were calculated from these data.
