Abstract

This work presents the design and construction of a differential-drive mobile robot for educational applications, focusing on both electronic and mechanical components. The objective was to create an accessible and versatile platform for the Austral University of Chile. The project included the design of the printed circuit board (PCB), 3D modeling of the chassis, prototype fabrication, system assembly, and the implementation of embedded code to verify the operation of integrated sensors and actuators. The resulting robot provides a cost-effective alternative to existing educational platforms (e.g., the e-Puck2 by EPFL), offering comparable functionality and supporting hands-on learning in robotics and embedded systems. © 2025 IEEE.
