Abstract
Industrial processes represent 34% of global energy consumption, necessitating electrified solutions to mitigate climate impacts. Microbreweries, where thermal stages (mashing/boiling) consume 70% of energy via fossil fuels, face scalability limits in current electrified solutions (single-phase systems) and inefficient photovoltaic (PV) integration. While ACcoupled PV systems reduce grid dependence, they introduce redundant DC-AC conversion stages, thus reducing efficiency. This work introduces a three-phase brewing kettle with a 2 level voltage source rectifier (2LVSR) for DC-link stabilization, three independent Cuk converters for precise resistive heating control, and direct DC-side photovoltaic (PV) integration via a Buck converter with maximum power point tracking (MPPT). Simulations validate temperature regulation (65 - 100°C) under dynamic brewing phases and PV irradiance steps (700 â 300 â 0 W/m2). The system maintains DC-link voltage (± 2% of 700 V) and enables bidirectional grid interaction, injecting PV surplus without additional inverters. © 2025 IEEE.
