Dispersion Analysis of Dielectric Strip Grating for Leaky-Wave Antenna Application
Abstract
This letter presents a dispersion analysis of a dielectric strip grating for leaky-wave antenna (LWA) applications. The structure consists of a grounded dielectric slab loaded with periodic dielectric strips. The complex wavenumber is extracted using multimodal Bloch analysis (MMBA), with rigorous coupled-wave analysis employed as a benchmark to assess the accuracy and limitations of MMBA when applied to fully dielectric LWAs. Furthermore, anisotropy is introduced as a design parameter, demonstrating its potential for dispersion engineering with enhanced control of the polarization behavior.
