Abstract

This article presents the most relevant results of the exploration of the phenomenon of rural entrepreneurship in Chile, from a perspective focused on the promotion of the SDGs. The main objective is to present the critical variables necessary to develop an evaluation instrument for rural enterprises in the Llanquihue Lake basin, in the Los Lagos region, Chile. The study began with a conceptual framework that establishes the basis of the article, addressing topics such as entrepreneurship and rurality, sustainability and innovation in organizations. The methodology used was a qualitative approach and conceptual exploration based on two dimensions to characterize the territory: spatial and population characterization and institutional politics. The above made it possible to determine the critical variables for the construction of an instrument: personal motivation, roots, territory and government support, economic benefits for the community, social benefits associated with entrepreneurship, environment, organization and work performance and productive processes. For this, a territorial space was defined for the survey of critical variables in order to develop a methodological strategy for the development of other studies in other areas of the country
