Abstract

From different species of the genus Maytenus growing in Chile, lupeol, betuline, betulinic acid, oleanolic acid, erythrodiol, ursolic acid and ?-sitosterol, twelve sesquiterpene polyesters, one nicotinoyl alkaloid and two triterpenquinones, were isolated. The structure of these compounds was established on the basis of spectroscopic studies and comparison of their spectral data with the given in the literature or from authentic sample.
