Abstract

Pillared Clays (PILCS) were prepared by the intercalation of aAl 7+ 13 polyoxication, with Keggin structure, in a smectite portion clay. The influence of preparation conditions, such as OH -/Al 3+ and Al 3+/g clay, ageing time and calcination temperature, on the textural and structural properties of the PILCS are presented here. The surface area increased in 280%, a 20% of the AI was incorporated, and the 001 basal spacing increased in 26% in the pillared clay with respect to the original clay.
