Abstract

The results obtained correspond to a pilot plant of active sludge to two stages that has been working for three years in the treatment of effuents in the industry of pressed boards. Although it is possible to remove more than 90% of soluble organic matter, the defective sludge deposition and also operating problems caused by wood toxical components make this process inadvisable.
