Abstract

We have developed a new system of passive recollection of fine particulate material present in ambient air. Preliminary measurements under field conditions show the success of the new design with an increased collection efficiency. In addition, we have used a simple optical system as an alternative to the regular gravimetric technique for the determination of particle concentration. Laboratory tests of the optical method display good correlation with standard mass measurements.
