Abstract

The use of active power filters for tackling the power quality problems in distribution networks is discussed. Active filters have proved to be a flexible and important alternative for compensating the current and voltage disturbances in the power distribution systems. In regard with it, the topology of power filters, required for the harmonic filtering purposes, is also discussed.
