Abstract

The hydric erodability of a small watershed (belonging to the Quiñenco lake basin, located at the 8 th region Chile) is assessed through a model developed by Cicacci & Palmieri (1987), which relates the erodability, in terms of transported solid sediments (TU, t/ha/y)) to drainage density (D) and slope of subbasins (P). The results show that the slope is the morphometric factor most correlates to erodability (r 2 = 0.82). While, the correlation of the drainage net density to erodability is very low. However, it is regarded that the model reflects de real erodabilty, as computed values approach field records, coming from the same watershed. The model uses allowed to map the hydric erodability, which is necessary to generate management guideline.
