Abstract

In this paper, a methodology to compute achievable performance bounds for stable, discrete-time tall MIMO systems is proposed. The methodology is based on a performance index, which cumulates the squared deviations of the system output with respect to the nearest vector to a constant reference direction. The results include expressions for the optimal value of this performance index and characterize the controllers that achieve such performance. For SIMO plants, closed form expressions depending on the dynamic features of the plant are also obtained. An example is presented to illustrate the results. © 2011 IFAC.
