Abstract

The main objective ofthis study is to expand the observation ofthe relationship between eating (ingestión) and emotions in obesity. Cerebral regions that share primary circuits in both eating and emotions were analyzed. It is proposed that eating is more than the act offeeding and includes other mental function activities such as self regulation and pleasure seeking, and has a role in the emotional adjustment ofsigniflcant relationships (family, couple). It is proposed that ifobesity could be included in DSM, new treatment and prevention alternatives could be developed.
