Implications of the use of hypertext in the teacher training

Abstract
The strong development that the application of INTERNET has acquired among the young is producing important changes in the way how they are dealing with reading and writing competences. It is fundamental to know the characteristics and consequences that these changes in the learning process of our students in order to improve the quality of the training process of the teachers. Based on the research named: “The didactics of hypertext and its influence upon the academic literacy”, this article analyses the topics on hypertext from a theoretical point of view, based on the different specialized reactions concerning the use of this technological tool. We acknowledge the need to study the redefinition of reading practices and written culture in interaction with the electronic text, making an emphasis in the notion of hypertext, which implies the freedom of the user to navigate the information in the net by following his/her own needs.
