Abstract

Despite their increasing relevance in the critic areas of public politics, the lack of attention to tyhe legislation and appropriate regulation of the NGO sector during the last decades has led to thye application of the general legislation to entities of rather particular nature. Transparency for NGO has become an issue of prime importance in Chjilean society, due to the application of increasing standars to public entities as well as to international organization. This text reviews the current challenges and potentialities of improvement in transparence in order to enrich the legitimacy of NGOs.
