Abstract

Herein is presented a reflection on the potential that the tourism experience offers as a vehicle that promotes the valorization and conservation of heritage Based on a literature review of the field of leisure and tourism, the value of leisure is established as experience that contributes to human well-being and in turn generates emotional and cognitive links with the sights. In particular, ecotourism provides the opportunity for leisure experiences that are meaningful, to the extent that contact with nature is explicitly manifested, a situation that could occur in the Araucaria Biosphere Reserve, in southern Chile.
