Abstract

This essay discusses the possibility of creating an interdisciplinary approach between anthropology and land planning. Territory is primarily assumed as a cross cultural concept, a space in which relationships and cultural systems take place; and secondly, land planning is assumed as a way of induce new ways of development, uses and occupation of those spaces. The exercise carried out here consists on proposing that development is the bond among anthropology and land planning, emphasizing the way society expresses its necessities and interests about the use of its territory, regarding to land planning. The challenge for both approaches is to generate a discussion to find tools which join them in that path.
