Post-apocalypse in the Andes. Political Violence and Representation in Peruvian Recent Literature

De Vivanco L.

Abstract

The present article focuses on three narrative texts of the Peruvian recent literature, that deal with the war between Shining Path and the Peruvian state: La hora azul by Alonso Cueto, Abril rojo by Santiago Roncagliolo and Un lugar llamado Oreja de Perro by Ivan Thays. In one hand, my reading begins by setting the place of literature in the construction of historical memory. In the other hand, my reading discusses some concepts about "representation", stressing the articulation between the cultural specifics of the Andes and the Peruvian literature in the global world.
