Turbulent natural convection in a dihedral cavity-Influence of the angle and the temperature of the walls on the mean thermal field
Abstract
An experimental study of the mean thermal field of a natural-convection airflow within a dihedral cavity is presented. The data were obtained by using a resistance thermometry technique. The temperature profiles show three different thermal regimes coexisting in the cavity. It was found that the mean thermal field and particularly the temperature stratification in the central core region are mare sensitive to the variations of angle a than to the variations of temperature between the walls. The mean thermal field and the temperature stratification were also influenced by the cavity end effects.
