Abstract

Energy storage by using latent heat with phase change materials (PCM), in construction, can produce improvements in the thermal conditioning of buildings and reduce energy consumption. For its possibility of use in building materials, the microencapsulated paraffin appears as a technological good alternative. This paper expose its application to cement mortars in quantities of 10, 15 and 20%, with two types of Portland cement and water / cement ratios of 0.5, 0,7 and 1,0. It also verifies the effect of polyfects on the properties of the mortar, showing strength and density reduction. Backgrounds thpropylene fibers in mortar mixes with microencapsulated paraffin. The results allow to see the efat bring to the design of such mixtures are provided.
