Abstract

The central focus in this issue is for students to learn what it is declared they must learn. For this to happen, it is essential that teachers know what to teach and how to teach it. Based on the two questions above, the objective of this research is to collect and organize information concerning practice knowledge about teaching that university professors obtain from their teaching experience. The information was collected through a qualitative methodology, in which 10 teachers from two universities in Iquique-Chile were interviewed. Teachers show a constructivist type of conceptualization of the learning, but they are not aware of how their teaching activity influences the social world
