Abstract

The Scale of Global Development of the Child Development Inventory has shown good properties for its use in screening, with the advantage of involving parents. It requires a minimum level of reading comprehension; in this work, we tried to discover if parent’s level education affects the indicators of reliability and validity. We also gather psychometric indicators and norms from a sample of pre-schools of Arica. We obtained good psychometric indicators, and the norms provide a local frame for interpreting the results. Thus, the scale can be used as complement for children assessment engaging their parents when they have 8 or more years of schooling.
