Abstract

The knowledge of diseases control techniques on farms is strategic for the biosecurity. This paper analyzes, using a mathematical model, the case of a farm affected by a SIS tyoe disease, which became an endemic problem. It considers a strategy for control and eradication of the disease based on isolation and care of a portion of the infected animal population during a sequence of time intervals. As function of the model parameters, a control threshold is obtained.
