Learning Objects Recommendation Platform based on Learning Styles for Programming Fundamentals

Abstract

Currently there is a large amount of material for support educational processes in different areas, specifically in the area of programming fundamentals, it is useful to give the students tutorials, videos, solved exercises and source code as support for their learning process. The problem associated with this is that often the given objects don’t match with the student's learning style. In this article is presented the development of a platform for learning objects recommendation based on learning styles. The platform was developed specifically for programming fundamentals. The main result is the development of a platform that allows assesst student´s learning style, recommend learning objects according to their preferred style and gives the teacher the options to manage resources and view the behavior of their course (distribution of learning styles and progress in the subject content).
