Abstract

This paper represents a support of the basic concepts for General Chemistry syllabus. This develop- ment was an outcome thanks to the experiences applied in the last two years, where theoretical and experimental chemistry was taught at the University of Talca with students from Mechanical and Construction Engineering elds. Speci cally in the experiment of the acid-base unit, the support came from Datastudio software, with the corresponding material (pH sensor and drop counter, Ex- plore GLX and PC). Di erent students from various elds performed the titration of a 0.1 M hydro- chloric acid solution with 0.1 M sodium hydroxide, enabling data entry, deduction and the interpre- tation of the graphically obtained results, that determined the exact neutralization point (at pH 7.0).
