Abstract

The main purpose of the project is to examine the consequences that digitisation are having on cultural pluralism, edmocratic processes, feredom of speech, quality of news and information, and editorial independence. It will the first study of such scope (50 countries involved) from a civil society angle on digital broadcasting and new technologies. The Chilean chapter will report the situation in Chile in eight areas: Digital Media consumption, Digital Media and Public or State-Administered Broadcasters, Digital Media and Society, Digital Media and Journalism, Digital Media and Technology, Digital Business, Policies, Laws, and Regulators, .
