Quiste bucal mandibular infectado: presentación de un caso

Abstract

Mandibular infected buccal cyst is a slightly frequent entity belonging to the group of the paradental cysts which are included in the odontogenic inflammatory cysts, classified by the WHO in 1992. It is appears in young patients, and develops on the buccal aspect of the mandibular first and second vital molars. Radiographs typically show a well-circumscribed unilocular radiolucency inter-roots area, with swelling and expansion of the bony cortical of the vestibular table. The diagnosis must to consider clinical, radiographic and histopathologic finding. The treatment is conservative, usually by enucleation and curettage of the injury, preserving involved tooth. Here we present a clinical case a mandibular infected buccal cyst in an 7 years old boy, analyzing clinical, radiographic and histopathologic features and its treatment.
