Fibroma ameloblástico: presentación de un caso clínico
Keywords: Odontogenic tumours, ameloblastic fibroma, ameloblastic fibrodentinoma.
Abstract
Ameloblastic fibroma (AF) or ameloblastic fibrodentinoma (AFD), is a benign neoplasm of mixed odontogenic origin (epithelial and mesenchymal) with low prevalence. It represents 2% of all odontogenic tumours. It is the most prevalent in the posterior mandible and it is observed in first and second decade patients, without sex predilection and possibly associated with an including tooth. According to the 2005 WHO histological classification of odontogenic tumours, AF and AFD are considered as the same tumour, with the difference that the last has dysplasic dentin formation. Radiographically, the tumour presents a well-demarcated radiolucency and might present mineralized radiopacity areas. The surgical treatment most appropriate consists of enucleation and curettage. This work presents an AF clinic case, of a 1 year old child, clinical, radiological and histopathology features and the treatment performed.
