Abstract
The lakes are deposits of water without dynamism, for that reason theirs ecosystems may be altered easily for the pollution causing restrictions on the use of the water and damages to the animal and vegetal life. An example in Venezuela, is the problematic in the Valencia Lake, it has been affected for the pollution created by the human activity nearby. This investigation presents a 2-dimensional model to simulate the dispersion of contaminants over the lake. It takes into account the use of partial differentials equations that describes the physics phenomenon of the advection and diffusion. To attain this goal, in first place we consider the study of the model explained in the article made by Pearson and Barber in 1995, followed by a programing phase and with a validation, where the results are presented through the processing of satellite images.
