Abstract

Noble metals (Pt, Pd, Ir)-based CSNs and their performance as catalysts in hydrogenation reactions: i) synthesis of cinnamyl alcohol from the selective catalytic hydrogenation of cinnamaldehyde, ii) synthesis of xylitol from the selective catalytic hydrogenation of xylose, iii) synthesis of halo anilines by selective catalytic hydrogenation of halo nitrobenzene, iv) hydrolysis–reduction sequence of phenol to cyclohexane. TiO2 and SiO2 with different size will be used as core to prepare nano and micro cores@shell materials. Porous SiO2 shell will be prepared from tetraethylortosilicate (TEOS) with different surfactant, whereas Ce and Sn will be used as additives.
