Mathematical model for predicting the biomass growth of Mytilus chilensis (Hupe 1954) in suspension cultures
Keywords: biomass curve, Mytilus chilensis, mathematical model
Abstract
A growth mathematical model (individual-population) of biomass for Mytilus chilensis is introduced. This incorporates the energy variable when assuming a predation component by means of the filtering. We will assume that the prey is the phytoplankton one and the predators are the filtering organisms. A new generalized Monod type biomass gain function is considered. Some simulations based on biogeographic data are included.
