Abstract

Over time, the world’s water resources have been affected by various factors such as climate change, vegetation change, population growth, increased agriculture, among others. The combination of growing water demand, climate and the hydrological gap prompted decision makers and water managers to seek strategies for effective water resources management. In recent years, Big Data solutions have been proposed for problems of water resources management in general. This paper proposes a Big Data platform to improve decision making by analyzing the variables that influence the state of the water resource in Chile.
