Abstract

Heritage is part of a more complex configuration. Instead of analyzing individual pieces of a larger puzzle, this chapter suggests understanding the landscape in which those traits are part. Landscape, however, is not as some definitions suggest, a still picture of a given place; instead, it is a living tapestry where humans are interconnected with beings other than humans. Thus, the value os a given piece of history depends on its positioning in a broader frame of reference.
