Abstract

This book chapter emphasizes the need to link technical-scientific knowledge to land-use planning instruments and public policies in light of the high recurrence of disasters caused by natural hazards, which have increased in the country in recent years. The subject of this work is among those addressed in the project (especially research line 3) due to the strong necessity to improve coastal governance through the adoption of measures that promote the conservation and safe use of the coast by humankind.
