Igualdad y Autonomía

Bruna, Carolina

Keywords: state, inequality, autonomy, social rights, bureaucracy, Max Weber

Abstract

The author uses Max Weber’s concept of bureaucracy to critique the notion that inequality can be approached only from the perspective of morality and goodwill, which is what she understands Joaquín García-Huidobro to be arguing in his lecture. In her view, the problem is one to be approached structurally, with the State recognizing types of subjectivities and the potential for each human being to exercise full autonomy.
