Abstract

This chapter analyzes urban growth in the intensely urbanized San Pedro plain, which is located on the ancient Biobío delta and occupies coastal areas of high natural fragility. The applied methodology is part of the group’s advance work that would apply to other coastal areas to be investigated. The group has other advance work underway in this study region that fits completely within the project objectives. This chapter contributes advance work that is useful for inclusion in new studies on adaptive processes on the coast.
