Abstract

Knowledge is provided for the design of structural elements of sawn timber, laminated timber and joints under the methodology established in the Chilean standards NCh 1198 and NCh 2165 through courses lasting 40 hours. The above is complemented by the use of C+T software (Change + Timber) that allows achieving the objective raised efficiently by compiling the NCh 1198 standard in its database and presenting it in a friendly interface. During the year 2017, five courses were held in the localities of Concepción, Talca and Santiago of Chile, in which the total average attendance was 95% and 244 of the 252 participants were approved. All the participants who fulfilled the conditions of approval of the course obtained a license of the C+T software.
