Abstract

The present work is based on a shared reflection on the mobilization of the gender category by the Chilean institutions to address the treatment of the issue of violence against women. The objective is to analyze, from a socio-historical and socio-political perspective, which factors have led to a distant reading of the feminist theoretical referents within the National Service for Women and Gender Equity (SERNAMEG). For this purpose, the last program launched by this National Service is used as an example, oriented to the prevention of the violence against women during the second government of Michelle Bachelet (2014-2018).
