Effect of thermal treatments on the catalytic activity of supported Ce/Tb mixed oxide
Keywords: Pt-Ga, dehydrogenation, n-butane
Abstract
The hydrocarbon catalytic combustion is growing in importance for the emissions control of volatile organic compounds, due to it can reduce drastically the temperature required for a complete combustion compared to thermal process without catalyst. In this work, a mixed oxide based on cerium is prepared and characterized, in order to use it as support in TWC catalysts. Different oxides were prepared to reach this goal: CeTbOx/SiO2, CeO2/SiO2, CeTbOx/La2O3-Al2O3 and CeO2/La2O3-Al2O3, all of them characterized by several techniques and catalytically evaluated by methane oxidation reaction in samples submitted to different thermal treatments.
