Component based approach using OMNeT++ forTrain Communication Modeling

Abstract
This paper reports on our experience in usingOMNeT++ to develop a network simulator focused on railwayenvironments. Common design problems are analyzed, makingemphasis on radio communication models. Scalability issues areraised when modeling the large topologies that are associated withrailway communications. Our conclusions point out that modelreusability must be reinforced and that a component-based designmust be adopted in order to build a tool for generating valuableperformance results
