Abstract

SINGAL furniture was a pioneering initiative in Chile in using laminated timber for massive furniture production. The design process combines imported techniques with local manufacturing capabilities. Through various types of chairs, this study analyzes how to achieve maximum structural efficiency by using local wood and industrial/handcrafted manufacturing to achieve efficient low-cost designs. © WCTE 2018 Committee.
