The Operations of the Mining Loan Bank in a Crisis, 1927-1934

Abstract

The goal of this article is to state the development of the Mining Credit Fund (CACREMI) during its first decade running in order to answer the next hypothesis. The previous development of small and medium mining activity, subordinate to the commercial capital of the creators and managers of the sea-transport that did not allow the miners to develop an commercial or productive ability in terms of innovation and productivity. We have to indicate too the lack of enablers, in the new scenario of the copper world industry, added to the credit limitation; in these circumstances, the CACREMI became the new enabler of small and medium mining activity promoting the perpetuation or archaism and stagnation of this activity.
