Power Quality Enhancement of Variable Frequency Drive by PWM Bridgeless Dual Boost Converter
Abstract
pulse width modulation (PWM) rectifiers can be used to regulate the input power quality of variable frequency drives (VFDs). While current techniques like passive filtering and current injection networks suffer from bulkiness, complexity, and performance issues at light loads. PWM technique provides less load-dependent performance. This paper introduces a study of improving the input power quality of a single phase to three phase rectifier-inverter structured VFD by using bridgeless dual boost (BLDB) PWM converter. Design and simulation of the proposed AC-DC converter are provided.
