Abstract

Producing pyroelectric mixtures (I), especially for pyroelectric and piezoelectric elements, comprises: (a) mixing at least two compounds in a predetermined ratio, consisting of (a1) a compound containing polymerisable monomers and hydrogen bond-forming substituents and (a2) a (co)polymer containing hydrogen bond-forming substituents; (b) heating the mixture to above the specific glass transition temperature (Tg); (c) applying an electric field to polymerise the monomer and polarise the mixture; and (d) cooling to below the Tg in the applied field.
