Abstract

In this paper we discuss a way of approaching the teaching and learning of the parabola based on the mathematical characteristics in the synthetic approach. With support in the construct Mathematical Working Space, we propose a way to guide the didactic task of the teacher by favoring the visualization and construction processes in coordination with discursive reasoning. The results of this research are proposed as input for the teacher and their training, which impacts on the teaching and practice in the classroom.
