Abstract

The purpose of the study was to analize the factorial structure of the "Cuestionario para la Evaluación del Síndrome de Quemarse por el Trabajo" (CESQT). 116 Chilean service professional workers formed the sample. Using exploratory factorial analysis (EFA), 4 factors were extracted that reproduced a structure consistent with the original model. However, item number 7, designed to evaluate Indolence, was grouped with the items of Psychological exhaustion, and item 18, designed to evaluate Psychological exhaustion, was grouped, with negative charge, with the items of Enthusiasm toward the job. It is concluded that the results of the study support the factorial validity of the CESQT, and the adequate internal consistency of its dimensions, hence it is an adequate instrument to evaluate the burnout in Chilean professionals.
