Abstract

This 20th edition of the manual has been reformatted and decreased in size to ensure that the printed version remains convenient to carry to the field as a quick reference for information such as clinical signs and symptoms, modes of transmission, incubation periods, and measures for prevention and control. It has been updated by a diversity of world-leading experts, and once updated each chapter has been peer-reviewed by at least 2 members of the editorial board as well as the editor. Chapter authors have signed off on each chapter and have signed a conflict of interest statement that is kept by the American Public Health Association (APHA).
